  2. Today I interviewed a boy named Ian, who studies in college of Arts and Science. He said he has never made a Dean’s List and give me a shy smile. And he plans to go to graduate school. His father earned a degree in philosophy in Michigan. When I asked about his parents’ degree, as I can’t spell Michigan, he wrote this word for me, and politely said his writing is not so good. After that I asked something about his study and leant that he has never failed in any exam and always finish his homework on time. By the way, he said modestly that he just tries to be a good student when I said him is very good. :)

By the way, I think last sentence should be “I said he is really good”. Of course your interview is pretty great~

  3. Today I interviewed one of my roommates called Kaitlyn, who studies in College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences. She said she had not ever made the Dean's List and had no plan to go to graduate school. Besides, her parents did not go to universities. The three questions I wrote by myself were "What is the highest degree you expect to earn?", "Do you know the hierarchy of UWRF?", and "Will your job in the future match your major?". She thought over and told me that she just expected to earn a Bachelor's degree. Also, she had no idea about the hierarchy of UWRF but she helped me with my homework by searching the material concerned on the Internet. As for the last question, she answered me, that students always chose the major in which they want to pursue in the future as a job. I think it is absolutely different from that in China, which is an obvious culture shock in my opinion.

  15. Student Interview

    by Xiandi Weng /Cindy

I was so lucky that I met an American friend last night outside the Freddy's c-store when I was about to find and interview someone (maybe a stranger). My friend's name is Abbie. She was really willing to help me with my homework.

Abbie studies in the college of Arts and Sciences(CAS). She made her Dean's list when she was in her high school. She is not planning to go to graduate school now because she said she didn't like to study anymore.

Her parents also went to universities. Her father went to a community college and got a business degree. Her mother earned a social work degree in the St. Kate University.

I asked what languages is she studying in and she said she learned both French and Spanish in the college. What's more, her favorite subject is TESOL and she's so happy during the classes. In her spare time, she likes to do some cooking and also photography. The two hobbies are quite different!

Abbie is a very nice friend and likes laughing all the time! I felt so relaxed when we stay together!

It sounds so inspiring! As for her future plan, she is not sure yet. "Probably I will go to graduate school." She said. And she also told me that her parents didn't go to university. I felt a little curious about the number of less educated people in USA but I thought it would be too rude to ask. Additionally, She also told me that she preferred school activities about food. And I said "Wow, me too!" Then we laughed a lot. When it comes to hobby, she said video gaming was her favorite. I was not familiar with that and she was so nice that she would like to teach me next time. At last, I asked her, "Are you satisfied with your campus life?"
